At Cima, we believe that art has the power to transform communities, amplify voices, and inspire change. That’s why we’re committed to showcasing emerging local talent and giving them the platform they deserve. In this month’s feature, we’re highlighting three Dallas-based artists who are redefining creativity and making waves in the art world.
1. Maria Lopez – Telling Stories Through Murals
Maria’s work focuses on capturing the essence of marginalized communities through vibrant, large-scale murals. Her latest project, "Echoes of Home," can be found at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center, where she explores themes of identity, migration, and resilience.
2. Jordan Ellis – Abstract Expressions in Mixed Media
Jordan brings a fresh perspective to abstract art by blending recycled materials and digital media. His collection, "Fragments of Now," will be showcased in Cima’s rotating gallery this fall. Don’t miss his artist talk on September 15th!
3. Aisha Patel – Bridging Generations with Textile Art
Aisha weaves tradition and modernity in her textile art, reflecting the cultural heritage of South Asian communities. Her interactive workshop, "Threads of Connection," invites audiences to create alongside her, fostering learning and cultural exchange.
